Desperately need help in RC

Hi, I have my gmat in a few days. I gave my practice tests

650(50 quant, 28 verbal)
680(50 quant, 33 verbal)

My most shaky part is RC where I tend to loose focus and get lost in the questions. I performed quite well in SC and CR but failed miserably in RC.

Please guide me need help urgent.

When it comes to Reading Comprehension (RC), there is not one specific approach that works best for everyone. I always recommend that students spend some time experimenting with different strategies to see which one best suits their memory, reading speed and English proficiency.

For RC, it's crucial that you engage 100% in the passage. Rather than approach a new passage with dread ("I don't enjoy reading it at all"), try to feign interest ("Excellent! This passage is about stock market regulations in Mexico!"). The better your engagement, the better the results.

I agree with Brent that there is no one approach that works for everyone. A good place to start to see what does work for you is to be a little more thorough at first and then skip a few steps if you find that you are getting better at it.

The key is to gather yourself periodically as you are reading. To stop, for example after each paragraph and say "this is what I know." Then you can integrate the paragraphs as you go. The other key is to go back to the passage whenever possible for those detail questions.
