Designing a study plan?

Hi Everyone,

Would appreciate some advice on designing a study plan for the GMAT. I took the GRE a few years ago, and did well on verbal (around 95%), but very disapointing on quantitative (like 70%), with little studying. I know I need to strengthen my math skills, which I feel is very doable, but will likely take lots of time and practice(I haven't used any math skills in a long time). Time is not an issue, since I will not be applying for a while, but I wanted to get the GMAT over with so I would be ready to apply any fall I feel is right.

Can someone offer suggestions for a comprehensive study plan, heavily focused on math, for someone looking to spend whatever time it takes to get 700+?

Hi rachelvernee,

Have you taken a practice GMAT CAT before? Since you've taken the GRE, it would be interesting to see how many of those skills "port" over to the GMAT. You can get 2 Free CATs from www.mba.com. The score that you earn on that CAT will help you to figure out how much study time you'll need and what to focus on. There are certainly plenty of standard study plans for students who are starting from scratch, but your situation is a bit different, so you might not need to follow the standard plan.

If you report back here with your CAT score, then I'll be happy to offer some more advice.
