Defense attorneys

Expert replies
by arorag » Tue Sep 29, 2009 6:26 pm
Defense attorneys have occasionally argued that their clients' misconduct stemmed from a reaction to something ingested, but in attributing criminal or delinquent behavior to some food allergy, the perpetrators are in effect told that they are not responsible for their actions.
(A) in attributing criminal or delinquent behavior to some food allergy
(B) if criminal or delinquent behavior is attributed to an allergy to some food
(C) in attributing behavior that is criminal or delinquent to an allergy to some food
(D) if some food allergy is attributed as the cause of criminal or delinquent behavio
(E) in attributing a food allergy as the cause of criminal or delinquent behavior

In C the clause -- in attributing modifies the perpetrators...attorneys and not the perpetrators attribute the criminal behavior TO allergy

idiomatic way to say this is : x is attrubuted to y

IMO B

AroraJi read the options carefully, behavior is not criminal a person is...so saying that behavior that is criminal is nonsensical, awkward and confusing if that refers to something else...

IMO A. We need to look for the subject (who is "attributing bahaviour"), and A sounds to me appropiate. Correct me guys if I am wrong ... Also OA?

OA is B

Can't be A,C,E because "in" modifies Defense Attorneys instead of Perpetrators and b/w B & D B is the answer as D changes the meaning and correct idom is attributed to and not attributed as
