Ok first thing first, only 1 question per thread ..tridip wrote:Can anyone please let me know how to solve these two decimal problems???
Question 1:--
Is the hundredths of the decimal d greater than 5??
1:- The tenths digit of 10d is 7.
2:-The thousand digit of d/10 is 7.
Question 2:--
What is the hundredth digit of the decimal Z?
1:-- The tens digit of 100z is 2.
2:-- The unit digit of 1000z is 2..
I am totally confused between these two problems// Plsss help.
Q1.) let the decimal "d" be of the form a.xyz .. over here "x" is the tenth digit, "y" is the hundredths digit, "z" is the thousands digit, question is if the hundredths digit (y) > 5 ..
the first statement says that for the decimal 10d the tenth digit = 7.. now 10d= ax.yz .. so according to the statement y = 7, that means the hundredth digit of d is > 5 , bcoz as we saw y is the hundredth digit of "d"
.. so statement 1 is sufficient..
the second statement says the thousand digit of the decimal d/10 = 7 that is the thousand digit of 0.axyz = 7, that is y = 7, which basically answers the original question .. so sufficient .. ans is D
