If k denotes a decimal, is k < .5 ?

(1) When k is rounded to the nearest tenth, the result is 0.5.

(2) When k is rounded to the nearest integer, the result is 0

(1) Both 0.49 and 0.51 rounded to the nearest tenth, result in 0.5. Hence k could be less or more than 0.5. Insufficient

(2) A decimal equal to or more than 0.5, rounded to the nearest integer, results in 1. But, a decimal less than 0.5, rounded to the nearest integer, results in 0. Therefore, the decimal k [spoiler]must be less than 0.5. Sufficient
