Dear Editor: I feel obliged to comment on the unfair review you published last week written by Robert Duxbury. Your readers should know that Mr. Duxbury recently published his own book that covered the same topic as my book, which you asked him to review. It is regrettable that Mr. Duxbury should feel the need to belittle a competing work in the hope of elevating his own book.
The author of the letter above makes her point by employing which method of argument?

A) Attacking the motives of the author of the unfavorable review.
B) Attacking the book on the same topic written by the author of the review.
C) Contrasting her own book with that written by the author of the review.
D) Questioning the judgment of the author of the unfavorable review.
E) Stating that her book should not have been reviewed by the author of a competing work.

Premise: Mr Duxbury who recently published his own book covered the same topic as another book which he was asked to review.

Option A - Correct
The author of the letter attacked Mr Duxbury's motive due to his unfavorable review by saying it is regrettable that he felt the need to underestimate a competing work in the hope of elevating his own book.

Option B - Incorrect
The author of the letter did not support method of attacking the book or the authors review. She made us understand that she and the author of the review now share the same topic which is wrong.

Option C - Incorrect
The author did not contrast her book with that of the author

Option D - Incorrect
The method being used was to attack the motive of the author. His judgement was not questioned.

Option E - Incorrect
The author of the letter at any point in time did not indicate that her book shouldn't have been reviewed by the author of a completing work.
