Data sufficency & problem solving

Hai , this is a DS Q

1.)is |M-N|=|M|-|N|?

1.) M>N
2.) M+N>1

Pls help me out ;
it have opted B
Am i right or wrong?

2.) In a class there 11 students , their average wt has given as 44, if the least weight of 6 member weigh 44, Highest weights of 6 memebers weight 55 , what is the median of the 11 members.
a.) 40
b.) 44
c.) 50
d.) 50.5

For the first question,
IMO E

Option 1 : M>N

plug in the values
M =2,N=1 . true
M=-1,N=-2. false
Hence, INSUFFICIENT

Option 2 : M+N >1

plug in the values
M=1 N=1 ..true
M=2 N=4 ..false
Hence, INSUFFICIENT

Combining both the equations,

plug in the values
M=4 N=2 ...true
M=4 N=-2 ..false
Hence, INSUFFICIENT

Even combining both statements:
if m =3,n=1, |m-n| = 2 and|m|-|n| = 2
if m =3,n=-1, |m-n| = 4 and |m|-|n| = 2

Hence, E

1) first question : both statements are insufficient

IMO:E

2) second question : Median= 44

what is the OA?
