Data Analysis Question?

Expert replies
by wilsonmcw » Mon Jan 07, 2008 11:20 pm
Can anybody tell me whether the below type of question is related to Data Analysis?

Where I can find the materials for practice (website or books)? (I can't find any material related to those question so far)

Thanks a lot!

Ada, Mary, April and Joanna participated in a charity walkathon. The fastest walker returned to the finishing point in 35 minutes. Which TWO pieces of information can tell you who was the fastest walker?

(1) Ada finished the walkathon in 41 minutes.
(2) April finished the walkathon earlier than Mary by 2 minutes.
(3) Mary finished the walkathon later than Joanna by 4 minutes.
(4) Joanna finished the walkathon earlier than Ada by 6 minutes.
(5) Ada finished the walkathon later than April by 4 minutes.

A. (1) and (2)
B. (1) and (4)
C. (2) and (3)
D. (2) and (5)
E. (3) and (4)

(Answer: The winner finished the walkathon in 35 minutes. Statements (1) and (4), when taken together, tell that Joanna can finish in 35 minutes. Therefore, the correct answer is B.)

This isn't a GMAT-type question. I know the GRE has data analysis-type questions; maybe this is from a GRE practice test?
