I'll be posting one of those questions on a regular basis.Let's discuss and get our concepts spot on!!

16. A reason Larson cannot do the assignment is that she has an unavoidable scheduling conflict. On the other
hand, a reason Franks cannot do the assignment is that he does not quite have the assertiveness the task
requires. So, the task must be assigned to Parker, the only supervisor in the shipping department other than
Larson and Franks.

The argument depends on assuming which one of the following?
(A) Larson has the assertiveness the task requires.
(B) The task cannot be assigned to anyone other than a supervisor in the shipping department.
(C) Franks would be assigned the task if Franks had the assertiveness the task requires.
(D) The task cannot be assigned to anyone who has any kind of scheduling conflict.
(E) No one who is not a supervisor in the shipping department has the assertiveness this task requires.


My Ans is B

Can Someone explain Why ans will be D and not B?

D is more or less stated in the argument. So, it can't be the assumption.

This is not a standard GMAT question. No use in discussing it further.

The Actual, Official, OA is B.

This is an LSAT question. It is from December 2004, the first Logical Reasoning section, question 3.

This is an assumption question.

Question that are within the first 10 on an LSAT section (this is number 3) are generally the easiest LSAT questions. Some of these are applicable to the GMAT. This one is not exactly like the GMAT assumption questions but it will work with normal GMAT methods.

I am not sure why the source would have the wrong answer!!
