Create a separate files section

by Rishabh » Mon Aug 21, 2006 2:58 am
Hi Eric !

I was going through the various posts and found that if a user posts some material that can be used by other members - he has to do it in the body of the mail itself.
With respect to that, wont it be better to create a file's section that will carry all the attachments (like 1000 SC's, 1000 CR's, etc. ) at one place.

Actually, even I was having a practice set of tests that I wanted to post - but din't wanted to do it in a regular post. (the size of the set is greater than 2MB which relates to problem posted by another member previously)

Let me know your views on this.

regards

Hi Rishabh:

Thanks very much for your feedback. I think that a file section makes a lot of sense, but I have to investigate whether it is feasible to implement. I have very limited php-coding skills, so we'll see...

With regards to posting files--raising the size limit is very easy. Do you think that 2MB is too limiting? What would be your suggestion?

Thanks again!

Hi Eric !

I feel 2 MB is quite a good size but just in case when the available practice stuff is greater than the size and cannot be broken down into smaller pieces, it does pose a limit.

The workaround is obviously that we may send out the stuff to you and then you can upload it (which actually I feel would be better to even keep a check on the material being posted).

Rishabh
