crashed and burned on the retake

by rdchandvadkar » Thu Feb 18, 2010 6:20 am
i gave my GMAT second attempt today scored a 590. Q42, V28.
GMAT 1st attempt 570 (Q35, V32)

i want to know, if i give GMAT a third time will b-schools look at it in bad light even if i manage to score something like 680.

Thanks.

You can take it again, just make sure that you show significant improvement. That is the consensus with most business schools.

Most of the B-schools take only the latest scores.

Take a break, start over your preparations freshly. The actual GMAT score will be almost the same as what you get in your GMAT Prep tests. Take the next GMAT, once you are able to consistently get the target scores in GMAT prep.
The more you learn, the more you know, what you don't know.

I agree with binurajbinu there is no value in retaking the taste with limited amounts of additional knowledge you really should find your areas of weakness and focus on improving them.

You have really messed up a lot ..Though universities check for latest scores ..but they keep a track record of previous scores too..so you should think a lot before that..
Well if you don't score much may be more than 650 or 700 its of no use...if you score less than 650 that would show clearly that u can't improve much...
so well prepare yourself and give a lot of effort if u r planning for 3rd time..
Also I would suggest to contact Eric, David and other GMAT instructors directly..just put a message to them. They always help in such a critical problem..Do discuss your problem in detail...and take ur decision in calmly and after a lot of thinking...
