CR: Weaken the conclusion

Expert replies

In questions like "All of the following weaken the conclusion EXCEPT" in CR.

1. Is it necessary that the right answer should support the conclusion.
OR
2. The right answer has to be odd one out. It may or may not support the conclusion, but will definitely not weaken.

Can anyone clarify my doubt.

Thanks.

I think there should be one pattern that should apply, and it should not depend on the question.
Anyway, will wait for ur examples, and for some more ppl to comment.

Correct :
Most of the EXCEPT questions i have come across.have 2 close choices.
weaken EXCEPT :
a) One that strengthens or
b) One that is out of scope / marginally affects the statement is also considered correct choices.
