In Tavernia, many road accidents result from driving on the wrong side of the road. Aiming for safer city roads, the city council has decided to impose heavy fines on such cases of wrongful driving, thereby aiming to reduce the number of fatalities caused by such cases. Though traffic department officials agree that the fines will reduce the related cases of traffic violation and possibly the number of fatalities resulting from them, they still think that the roads would not be much safer than they are now.

Which of the following statements best supports the officials' stance regarding the effects of the proposed penalties?

A
Even though most of the accidents are due to driving on the wrong side of the road, exceeding the speed limits, especially at night times, has been the single most significant contributor to road fatalities.

B
A significant number of road fatalities are a result of the driver driving the vehicle on the wrong side of the road.

C
The traffic department plans to build safer pavements and better night lighting systems on all major roads, utilizing the revenue acquired through the new tax.

D
Till date, no country with a high number of road fatalities has imposed such a tax to curb wrongful driving behavior.

E
Expenses related to incidents on unsafe roads tend to be a significant contributor to any country's annual expenses related to public health safety.

Option A :- Incorrect
The main statement does not talk about speed limit and those irrelevant words are not supposed to be contained in the option.

Option B :- correct
This is the correct option as it clearly states out the major cause of the road accidents and the statement is in accord with the major statement.

Option C :- Incorrect
This does not follow as the discussion is not in line with the major.

Option D :- Incorrect
Yes, driving penalty was imposed but remember it was never stated if it is the highest in the world. This is non-sequitor

Option E :- Incorrect
Country expense was not discussed and it is not important to the point of discussing.
