Here is my justification.

E states that "Whether survey respondents' reports of time spent using computers included time spent using computers at work".

If the answer to that is No, which means that "Reports of time spent included only free time", then it strengthens the conclusion.

If the answer is Yes, that means "Reports of time spent includes time spent using computers at work", then it weakens the conclusion. The reason is that the premise talks only about the free time spent on computers.

E

If the respondents spent most of their time using computers at work, they would still have time to watch television and hence the need to complain will not arise.

Computer based activities were expected to increase the time spent on computers. But that assumtion as the author mentions turned out to be false. Why? The author quotes his evidence that -- a very large majority of respondents who used a lot computers....

When the author is quoting the above to actually evidence that people spend less time on computers--the first thing one would need to know evaluate is -If the respondents spent most of their time using computers at work

that mean u have to look out for the option, which makes arguement more valid. and prove that it is correct.

We have to select a choice which either strengthen it or weaken it..

E is waekeinig the argument....how?

the argument is based upon "free time"
If evidence is based upon "work time" then the argument is weakened..:-)
