Flyer: Appleseed Books is pleased to announce that our Summer Bookclub and Signing Series will feature six of the best new novels by local authors. Club registration fee includes all books, refreshments at meetings, and admission to each signing event.

Based on the information above, which of the following must be true?

Summer Bookclub will be popular among fans of local authors.
Most local authors write novels rather than poetry.
Book signings will not be held during regular meetings.
Only Bookclub members will be admitted to signing events.
It must be decided which new novels are the best.

Karthik

A: can't say from the given info whether the bookclub will be popular or not
B: Again, can't say
C: Can't say because 'regular meetings' is not defined anywhere
D: Yes, as evident from the last line - Club registration fee includes all books, refreshments at meetings, and admission to each signing event.
E: Can't say

Kindly correct me if i am wrong.

The correct answer should be E. Let me explain:

Summer Bookclub will be popular among fans of local authors.
We can't decipher for sure that the Bookclub will be popular anyway. NO.

Most local authors write novels rather than poetry.
Out of context. We don't care if they write poetry or novels. They could very well write more poetry and nothing in the argument will change. NO.

Book signings will not be held during regular meetings.
We are not provided what "regular" meetings are or whether there is a special book signing event every time. NO.

Only Bookclub members will be admitted to signing events.
We know that Bookclub members will be admitted. However, we don't know that "only" bookclub members will be admitted. There is nothing in the paragraph precluding non-members. Maybe, there is a special fees that they collect when book signings happen and let in other non-members. who knows? NO.

By this point, the answer by elimination should be E. Let's check.

It must be decided which new novels are the best.
We are told that the "Summer Bookclub and Signing Series will feature six of the best new novels "
How does one select the 6 of the best new novels. Well, first of all they must decide which of the new novels are the best ones. Then pick 6 of that selection. YES.

Let me know if this helps :)
