Possible scenarios are

a. All are red. No green
b. All are green. No red
c. Some are red. Some are green

I: Correct because of a above
II: Correct because it is the contrapositive of the first statement of the argument
III: Incorrect. False contrapositive

IMO B,
How can I be true. The awnings can either be red or green. Now it is possible that all of them are red. so It is not a MUST that some awnings are green

Sorry guys, there was a silly mistake in the inferences drwan above although the logic is correct. Have rectified the error.

I still think I is false. The awnings can either be red or green. What if all the awnings are red. Now it is not a MUST that some awnings are green.
so I is not necessarily true

The answer most definitely CANNOT be C. Here's why:

All the prompt states is that all houses on main street have awnings, each of which are EITHER green or red.

Look at the following diagram (each x is a house). Suppose that there are 3 houses on main street:

X X X
red red red

Does this main street satisfy the three requirements:

Each house has an awning (yes)
Each house has either a green or red awning (yes)

But oh no! There aren't any green awnings! So, I cannot be correct.

However, choice II is correct because of the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contrapositive.
Have you wondered how you could have found such a treasure? -T
