I am an Indian male aged 29.
I have a lot of questions specially since I might not be a typical strong candidate for a top B schools. But I am hoping that I ll be able to sell my story. Will my profile appeal to top10 colleges.
weaknesses in my profile:
1. Hotel Management which was a 3 yr diploma(1997-2000). Started working as a waiter in 2000.
2. 54.3 % in Diploma but I presume I would still be in top 25-30%. Im trying to get this frm college
3. In 2004 when the institute started awarding degrees, I took the degree in Dec 2006. Though I had to write 5 papers in 2 seatings. 62.3%
4. worse they had calculated HM percentage from a total of 5000. They killed any hopes of improvement in av by adding total to 600(for degree) and so I ended up with 55.4% overall. A increase of 1% that cost me 2 trips to India.
Strengths
1. GMAT 740 (97) V42 Q48
2. 8 yrs exp. Got 7 promotions in 8yrs. Worked as a Product Manager for IT company which is into Hotel softwares and later helped them set up office in london.
3. GM for last 2 yrs in a company which is into hotels, real estate and restaurant (no s)
4. I am working on a alternative transcript.
5. Worked in Delhi,Bangalore,Mumbai, Sharjah(UAE) and presently in London.
