The following was used as part of an internet advertising company's appeal to businesses: Furniture Depot employed our internet advertising company to help. Since then its sales increased by 10% over last year's totals. Furniture Depot's success demonstrates how using our internet services can increase your profitability.

Describe how well reasoned you find this argument. In the discussion be sure to analyze the line of reasoning and the use of evidence in the argument. For example, you may need to consider what questionable assumptions underlie the thinking and what alternative explanations or counterexamples might weaken the argument's conclusion. You may also address possible changes in the argument that would make it more logically sound, and what, if anything, would help you better evaluate its conclusion.

MY REASONING:

The argument tries making an assumption that because a company had taken
help of an advertising company so only the sales have gone up, saying this the
argument does not give us any reasons to prove so which ultimately fails to
justify whether Internet advertising really helped the "Furniture Depot" increase
profit, thus making the argument flawed.
Firstly , the Internet advertising company fails to mention how advertisement of
the company helped increase its sales, as the Internet is preferred by many
advertisers so there might be many more furniture companies advertising
themselves in the Internet, so how does it justify that the advertisement of the
particular Internet advertising company made Furniture Depot go through such
a success and also nowhere in the argument is it mentioned whether the
Internet advertising company had a good reputation or a goodwill better than
other advertisers which if so could be true that the advertisement of this
company really helped. But with no information about the Internet advertising
company the argument cannot be justified.
Secondly, the Internet advertising company also excitingly says how using
Internet services increase profits, but though it said this it again fails to give us
the reasons how will this happen, and also without any data or statistics which
the Advertising company could have given to make his point justified it has not
done so, making the argument again fall apart.
Therefore, the argument does not carry the required reasoning which could
have helped to agree to the Internet advertising company's claim that
Advertisement in Internet does help in getting success. Failing to do so the
argument does not seem to help the company's who in future would be likely to
try out Internet Advertisement. Thus, by providing of relevant statistics and data
to the same the argument would have been much clear to understand.
