contrasted to/with and compared to/with are acceptable on the gmat.

"As contrasted with.." - incorrect
"In contrast with..." - correct

Rule for usage of "contrast" is same as that of "like" - only nouns can be compared and not noun+verb.

contrasted to/with and compared to/with are acceptable on the gmat.
i agree with this . i know that "as contrast to/with" is wrong but is it that "as compared to/with" is also wrong?

As compared with (or to) are not outrightly wrong.
But i would not hinge my answer solely on "As compared with.." construction.

Refer to Manhattan Sentence correction strategy.

i agree with u .the reason i asked this is because i know for sure that "as contrasted to/with" is outright wrong. if u have seen "as compared to/with" in official problem then can u paste it here ? though i faintly remember i have seen it some where still want some confirmation !!
