Coordinates - circle

by arocks » Mon Oct 15, 2007 1:27 am
The circle has center O and radius 50, and point P has coordinates (50,0). If point Q is on the circle, what is the length of line segment PQ?

(1) The x-coordinate of point Q is -30.
(2) The y-coordinate of point Q is -40.
OA - E. IMO - C...it says on the circle not anywhere in the circle...?can we assume it is on the boundary of the circle?
to find distance between any two points on the coordinate system we need x,y coordinates of both.

Q may be any where here & p may be anywhere just the coordinates of both are reqd to get the ans.
