Confused Low Math score high Verbal? (Engineer)

Hi,
Just curious if anyone is having a similar experience. I am an engineer and have always done well with math. In addition, I have been OK in English but always thought to be better in math. However, I have been taking the 800 score practice test with a ~30 percentile in math and a 91 percentile in the verbal section!?
I am really confused and seem to struggling with the math. Any suggestion how to better study for the Math? I am taking the test November 10th so I am not hoping for any miracles, but I should be able to bring my math score up a bit.

Any advice or comments are appreciated.

I can't offer any advise, but I certainly know how you feel.

I just took the GMAT after scoring 680-720 on practice tests.
I scored a 640, 40% Quant and 97% Verbal!

I've always been more comfortable with the math and have been whizzing through prep books left and right. Maybe over-confidence got the best of me. I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts about that.

I'm re-taking in one month.

I can concur to the two previous posts. However, I can tell from my experience that low score on GMAT Math results from lack of knowledge on how to approach different type of problems. (rather than whether you are competent in math or not)

For example, my GMAT Math score jumped by 12 points when I mastered data sufficiency problems.

For many DS problems, it has either value oriented problem or Yes/No problem.

If you haven't mastered DS, that is where your problem lies.

97 % verbal...ahhhhhh...I feel like a kid standing in front of a candy shop...
