The only subject here is SAMANTHA:
SAMANTHA IS going to the beach.
The phrase in addition to Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda serves as an ADVERB providing context for HOW Samantha IS GOING to the beach.

The following phrases typically serve as ADVERBS:
in addition to X
along with X
as well as X
In each case, X serves as the OBJECT of the relevant preposition (to, with, as) and thus CANNOT be serving as a SUBJECT.
