Zebras are more vicious COMPARED TO/WITH horses

why is this sentence wrong? obviously because of the use of "more"... ?

it must be

Zebras are more vicious than horses

that's easy indeed, but i didn't realize before ;-)

more should always be followed by than i.e more x than y..............
