. In a certain year, the difference between Mary's and Jim's annual salaries was twice the difference between Mary's and Kate's annual salaries. If Mary's annual salary was the highest of the three people, what was the average annual salary of the three people that year??

A) Jim's annual salary was 30,000 that year

B) Kate's annual salary was 40,000 that year

since mary's salry was highest
M-J = 2(M-k)
A: only J known , it is insufficient
B: only K known , it is insufficient

combined M- 30000 = 2(M- 40000) --> 50000 = M
so av can be calculated .............sufficent

M - J = 2(M-K)
Average annual salary = M+K+J/3

A) J = 30,000

M-30000 = 2(M-K)
30000 = 2K -M

Insufficient

B) K =40000

M - J = 2M -80000
M+J = 80000
M+J+K = 120000
Avg salary M+J+K /3 = 40000

Sufficient
