In the xy-plane, the line with equation ax + by + c = 0, where abc ≠ 0, has slope 2/3 What is the value of b?
(1) a = 4
(2) c = −6
A. Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient.
B. Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient.
C. BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.
D. EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.
E. Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.

For equation ax+by+c=o
slope = -a/b

statement (1)
a=4
-a/b = 2/3
-4/b=2/3
b=-6
Sufficient.

Statement (2) It does not give us anything to work with.

Thus, A.
