What is the closest number to 9*10^9 - 3*10^4?

A. 10^6
B. 10^7
C. 10^8
D. 10^9
E. 10^10

9*10^9 is very close to 10^1 * 10^9, which equals 10^10. 3*10^4 is virtually insignificant to 10^10 (it is a million times smaller - this is like subracting 1 from a million).

Your answer is E.
