Thank you for helping me understand this problem!

In the attached figure, points P and Q lie on the circle with center O. What is the value of S?

A. ½
B. 1
C. SQRT 2
D. SQRT 3
E. (SQRT 2) / 2

S equals sqrt3 because the point O is the middle of the circle, therefore, the distance from O to s = the distance from ) to -sqrt3 because each is a radius and circle radius's are equal.

Just memorize this rule... IF the two lines are perpendicular and passes through the origin(0,0), then the second point is the negative reciprocal of the first point.

Point P (- sqrt3, 1) then point Q is ( 1, sqrt3) .. simple isn't it ?? :)
