Cigarette smoking has been shown to be a health hazard; therefore, governments should ban all advertisements that promote smoking.
Which one of the following principles, if established, mast strongly supports the argument?

(A) Advertisements should not be allowed to show people doing things that endanger their health.

(B) Advertisers should not make misleading claims about the healthfulness of their products.

(C) Advertisements should disclose the health hazards associated with the products they promote.

(D) All products should conform to strict government health and safety standards.

(E) Advertisements should promote only healthful products.

I go with E.

A and E are close. But Option A reasons that advertisements should not be allowed to "show people" . Whether the advertisement shows poeple how to smoke or simply pormotes is a question which is not answered.
Hence i choose E which keeps it simple and direct.

E IMO. The sentence says that "smoking is a health hazard"
A says that ads should not be allowed to show ppl doing things that endanger their health. This is a wide principle and can be applied to trekking or anything like that where people do stuff which is endangering their health. So this is a bit too wide open option.
However E is a bit specific which says that ads should promote only healthful products. Cigaratte is a product which is not healthy and if this principle applies, then cigaratte ads should be banned.

Key word is "all" in "all advertisements." implication is that advertisement=cigarette smoking=health hazard. Therefore to ban all advertisements is to ban advertisements that promote health hazard. Conversely, advertisement should promote "only" healthy products.

Same with me. I got "E" using the key word "promote" in the passage. "A" would mean that even if an ad showed someone smoking and the effects/health problems that can occur from it then it would still not be allowed
