I read on https://www.manhattangmat.com/blog that there are some revisions in SC such as idioms are no longer part of the exam. Experts please shed some more light.

As of now, this is hearsay and not officially confirmed. The GMAT is changing in 2012, but those changes have already been announced here: https://www.mba.com/the-gmat/nex-gen.aspx

But I found this blog very interesting as well: https://www.manhattangmat.com/blog/index ... orrection/

MGMAT basically wrote that a source from GMAC revealed to them that the GMAT's intention is to phase out Idioms and phase in questions that more explicitly test meaning. But again, there has been NO official word on this.

For now, though, it would be wise to continue your SC studies normally. It's a good lesson to take away from this, however, not to be so slavish to Idioms. Even now we see on SC's how meaning is very, very important, and can sometimes trump idiomatic "preferences."

A solid grasp of grammar, though, will ALWAYS be tested on SC's.
