I originally wanted to apply this year for matriculation in 2016 but got sidetracked and am now thinking it's too late and I should wait another year.
Based on my profile, I'd appreciate if I could get some input on my chances at a top 10 school. Obviously, I'd like to go to a top 3 but I am well aware that my profile is less than ideal.
Asian, 27, male. (Applying next year, so I will be 29 by matriculation)
UCLA economics undergrad, 3.55 GPA (improving trend with 3.7 and 3.8 in my last two years)
730 GMAT (73 %ile quant, 96 %ile verbal, 8 IR, still awaiting AWA score)
5 years work experience at two companies doing fp&a. First was at a major defense company (1 promotion). Current job is at a major asset management company (expecting promotion in 2 months). Non-managerial position but have essentially acted as a team lead at both companies. Multiple awards at both companies.
Basic volunteer activities such as at a food bank, CHOC, etc.
