Chances at a top 10 school?

In particular, I'm looking at a top 10 finance school (NYU, Booth, Wharton being ideal).

My profile:

Undergrad: Economics at UChicago
GPA: 3.4
SAT (does anyone put this?): 1470
GMAT: 720

Work experience: Currently 4 years at Bank of America, in the Secondary Marketing division of the the mortgage division. Area is responsible for hedging interest rate risk on BAC's $40 billion mortgage loan pipeline. Have developed high technical skills, deep knowledge of mortgage finance and the mortgage secondary/capital market. Had a direct analyst report for almost a year. I consider my experience unique for someone my age and pretty relevant, considering the impact of housing on the ecnomy in recent years.

Extracurriculars: My weakest area, in my opinion. Limited involvement with undergrad alumni club since graduation. Active in local sports leagues

Assuming I can put together a convincing essay and my recs are sufficiently positive, what is my shot @ my target schools above?

Make the right list within the top 10, and have strong essays, and you will have more than a fighting chance (esp. at your alma mater and NYU)

PS.. the SAT doesn't really matter.

You do have a strong chance at the programs you listed. I would make sure that your personal essays and recommendations are strong- these are more important than most people think.

Hi David,

Assuming you can put in good essays and recommendation you have a good shot at mentioned schools.
Gmat wise you are in a good position so focus on essay and recommendation section. You don't have to mention your sat scores as they won't be needed. All the best!
