CEIBS, 3-rd round, chances

Hi!

First of all, thank you very much for you really valuable admission advices!

I have applied to CEIBS in the 3-rd round.

My profile:
25 years old, male, Russian
Master degree in finance (good russian university)
Experience: 5,8 years in finance, large russian companies (power engineering)
GMAT: 730 (Q49, V42) - second attempt (the first was 570 couple months ago (what a shame! :) ))
Recommendations: 2 former supervisors
Extracurricular activities: charity (take part in the corporate orphanage support), corporate soccer team, student comedy club, amateur photography

The things i am concerned about are:
a) age far below average
b) late application (planned to apply by the 2-nd round, but failed the GMAT)
c) poor first attempt of the GMAT.

Given my profile, what do you think I should expect?
Any advice would be greatly appriciated! Thank you!

Dear berus,

It is hard to predict what will happen as I don't know what the applicant pool at CEIBS looks like this year and what CEIBS is striving for in its class profile. Based on your information, you seem to be competitive for the school, but the decision will come down to how strong your application package is overall relative to the other R3 applicants. Hopefully, you submitted a great application package with strong essays and recommendations to give yourself the best chance. I don't think your age or your first GMAT score will be a concern. The late application might come back to hurt you if CEIBS already received a large number of outstanding Russian applicants and offered most of it seats to R1 and R2 applicants. Think positively!
