Sum of list A = number*average = 20(9.5) = 190.
Sum of list B = number*average = 10(8.3) = 83.
Average of the new list = sum/number = (190+83)/30 = 273/30 = 9.1.

We can also treat this as a weighted average.
Of the 30 numbers, 20 have an average of 9.5, and 10 have an average of 8.3

So, the combined average will be: (20/30)(9.5) + (10/30)(8.3) = 9.1
