Despite having brought far more gear to the campground than they had in their previous camping trip, the outdoor club only had enough food for two days.
  • A. they had in their previous camping trip
    B. their previous camping trip had had
    C. they had for a previous camping trip
    D. in their previous trip
    E. for any previous camping trip
If I am wrong correct me :), If my post helped let me know by clicking the Thanks button ;).

Hi,
Comparison should be between similar things
A. they had in their previous camping trip(having brought vs had brought)
B. their previous camping trip had had(having brought vs previous camping trip)
C. they had for a previous camping trip
D. in their previous trip(having brought vs in their trip)
E. for any previous camping trip

So, I think Answer is A

Cheers!

it has to be"E" .subject "the outdoor club" is singular. except"e" all options have they and their, which are wrong.
