Caesarea was Herod's city, founded as a Romanized counterweight to Hebraic Jerusalem, and being such it was regarded with loathing by the devout.

a) being such
b) as such
c) for this
d) so
e) so being


Is it the Only case that we have to use the passive voice on it?

Is it the Only case that we have to use the passive voice on it?
We already have two independent clauses joined by [comma+and]

Therefore, we dont need another cordinating conjunction to separate them.

This eliminates C, D & E

Option A is clearly wordy.

Hence, B should be the answer.

Even if we dont look at the independent clauses, options D & E can be easily eliminated because we dont need any cause & effect.

"so..that" is right construction ,Being is wordy

left with B and C


C-"This" as a demontrative pronoun doesnot have any referrent or thing to demonstrate

B fits the bill

I don't know the OA.. I got this question from takegmat.com

Can you guys answer me .. is the only use of the passive voice when the non underline portion passive ? If yes , in this case we must use passive voice, so why we eliminate being?

B for me.

As such used like a pronoun for Romanized counterweight to Hebraic Jerusalem and it refers Caesarea .

C is attractive too..FOR THIS could be used as BECAUSE OF THIS.

But I will go with B

Check the correct usage of "Being" in Sumits notes

I recall, Being is ok when "with"+ something

Anways, in this sentence, Being doesnt suit.
