A. "Greek authorities requesting" is wrong usage. "Greek authorities who request" is proper. Although it is true that "requesting ..." modifies Greek Authorities, this is similar to a preposition + noun + verb-ing and one should steer clear of the construction if a better is available.
B. them is wrong reference for British Museum.it is proper. Again the same construction as "A" of "requesting"
C. rebuffing request?? changes the meaning clearly.
D.This is good.
E. use of "them" similar to B.
