Although improved efficiency in converting harvested trees into wood products may
reduce harvest rates, it will stimulate demand by increasing supply and lowering
prices, thereby boosting
consumption.
A. in converting harvested trees into wood products may reduce harvest rates, it will
stimulate demand by increasing supply and lowering prices, thereby boosting
B. in converting harvested trees into wood products may reduce harvest rates, demand
will be stimulated because of increasing supply and lowering prices, which boost
C. of converting harvested trees into wood products may reduce harvest rates, it will
stimulate demand by increasing supply and lowering prices, which boosts
D. of harvested trees being converted into wood products may reduce harvest rates, it
will stimulate demand, because it will increase supply and lower prices, thereby
boosting
E. when harvested trees are converted into wood products may reduce harvest rates,
demand will be stimulated because of increasing supply and lowering prices, which
boost

OA B, what's the issue with A.

In A, i believe usage of "it" is correct as it is clearly refering to improved effiency and then we can read the part of sentence as "improved effiency will stimulate demand by increasing supply and lowering prices, thereby boosting consumption"

Dont understand the issue with A

Hi Anjalioberoi,

The answer should be A.
Honestly if this question is an official one, I would use my ear to eliminate B !
" demand will be stimulated because of increasing... " is awkward.

If you want a specific error: " because of increasing" is wrong !

" ...lowering prices , which boost .." I cant confirm whether it is wrong, but pretty sure that GMAC won't write a sentence like this.

Regard,
