I'm looking to hit around 750... wondering where my hit rates should be? Currently, I'm between 85% & 95% on the 50 last problems from each section in OG11.

Is there a compilation somewhere of peoples' hit rates vs their actual GMAT scores, or anything similar?

I believe that the 85-95 hit rate should be fine for 700+, though I don't have exact numbers. You are also counting the hit rate for last 50 questions, which are supposedly more difficult.

For my self assessment breakdown for each section overall in my practice:
PS: 95 - 100%
DS: 95 - 100%
RC: 90 - 95%
CR: 95 - 100%
SC: 80 - 85%

Thanks for the numbers. Definitely encouraging, given your stellar 770. These are for OG11 from head to toe, I take it? Very good consistency.

My RC & CR are 90+ consistently. SC is 88% without any studying for that section, so I have a feeling I can get that one up. However, my PS/DS are lacking around the 85% range. Any tips on how to break into the 90s?

I'd love to see other peoples' hit rates vs. real GMAT scores too.

I can't really offer much advice on Quant. Like many people on this forum, I was pretty strong in Quant. already, and I just wanted to make sure I did not make stupid mistakes. The only major weakness I had in Quant. was permutation/combination, but I did not see a single problem on the real GMAT.

It's next to impossible to estimate what you'll get by looking at your percentage correct on OG questions and nothing else - even when you limit yourself just to the hardest questions. Timing is a major factor, for one thing, and not just per-question timing but management of time over the entire section. Stamina is another major factor.

At a 750 level, you'd expect to get maybe 70-85% of the questions right (depending on the actual subscores you're getting in each section), and those questions would range from pretty hard to extremely hard (with the possible exception of experimentals, but of course those don't factor into your score).

It's much better to gauge your likely scoring level based on practice tests (especially GMATPrep).
