Bell Curve question bank

I started solving the Bell Curve question bank related to the GMAT.

I found the difficulty level of the questions to be significantly higher as compared to the questions in the OG.

What is the actual difficulty level of the GMAT(Is it based on the difficulty level of OG or is it more based on the level of the bell curve question bank?)

The test is adaptive, so it's a bit misleading to talk about a general difficulty level. If test-taker 'A' gets off to a good start and answers nine of the first ten quant questions correctly, she is going to see more challenging questions than test-taker 'B' who struggles on the early questions.

You've probably noticed that there is a substantial gap between the difficulty level of the easiest questions in the OG and the most challenging questions. The test-taker who gets an elite quant score on the real thing will consider the OG questions, on average, easier by comparison. The test-taker who struggles on the real thing may not see it this way. The best way to get a feel for the texture of the test is to take one of the practice tests on mba.com.

Hi Nitin,

You've mentioned using this one particular resource, but I have a few questions about the other aspects of your studies:

1) How long have you been studying?
2) What resources have you been using?
3) How have you scored on your practice CATs?

4) What is your goal score?
5) When are you planning to take the GMAT?

Hi,

Thank you for your reply!

I am sorry regarding the delay in my reply.

1) I have been studying since May 2015.
2) I am using the OG and Manhattan GMAT books. I also practice questions on Bell Curves.
3) I gave a pre-prep mock and scored 570. I did well in Quants but performed poorly in verbal.
4) My aim is to score 700+
5) I plan on taking the GMAT by the last week of August(2015).

Please let me know in case you need any more information to guide me better.

Hi Nitin,

If you've been studying consistently since May and you have only taken the 1 CAT, then it might be time to take another FULL-LENGTH CAT so we can get a sense of your progress.

With a late-August Test Date, you have plenty of time to continue studying. That next CAT result will help to confirm whether you should stick with your current study plan or make some adjustments.
