Hi,
I would appreciate if someone can comment on why is B incorrect??.
I figured out that there are many pronouns which dont necessarily refer to the correct noun. But I would like to get some explanation.

thanks

D is wrong because first half of the sentence before ; cannot stand by itself

E is wrong as it uses passive voice and also starts with originating which makes it awkward

A says that Elephants are believed to originate from a small area on their foreheads

B uses they may use this. its not clear what they is referring to here as we have elephants, low frequency sounds which are plural. This refers to plural low frequency sounds.

C
Elephants emit low-frequency sounds that they may use as a secret language to communicate with other members of the herd. (with out the phrase in between)
