A father is three times as old as his son. After fifteen years the father will be twice as old as his son's age at that time. What is the present age of the father?

Father's age = f

Son's age = s

given f = 3s

after 15 yrs.

father's age = f+15

son's age = s+15

given that f+15 = 2 (s+15 )

f - 2s = 15

we know f = 3s

So f- 2f/3 = 15
