I read this in the OG on one of the questions and noted it down:

"Due to" is awkward, instead use "because of"

i just rem this small eg.

The play was halted because of rain .

Due to rain the play was halted.

There is subtle diff between both sentences..

IMO D.

Due to construction is used where it serves the purpose of "attributed to" else for causal mechanism, use "because of " or "in that"(used only when modifying a noun)
