OA : D

I am still confused why rather is preferred over Instead here.

Even I'm confused.
Experts, could you provide your valuable inputs.
But going by the choices, only B seems to be perfect. Rest of the sentences are wrong.
May be that is the reason to prefer 'Rather' over 'Instead'
