re:

It has been my dream for the past few years to go to a top tier b-school in europe. At this point I haven't taken the GMATS, but am preparing now. I expect to take them in Feb 08. Please take a quick look at my stats and let me know if your opinion. I would like to apply for the fall 09 admission.
My top choices are:
Instituto de Empresa
Erasmus- Rotterdam School of Management
LBS
HEC- Paris

age:27
female
udergrad gpa (2003): 3.1
grad gpa (2007): 3.8 (MA in corporate communications)
current position: marketing manager at an ad agency

volunteer:
-have been working off and on with NY cares for the past 6 months
-working on a pro bono campaign at work for a children's organization

I am worried that my work experience doesnt show enough leadership? My first job after udergrad I did entry level accounting work for 2 years. Then I decided to go back and get my masters in communications. At that point I had to start at the bottom again, as an administrative assistant for a communications company.

Do you think that I will be able to get into my top choices?

Hi uppereasttoeu,

I think that if you are able to put together a strong application package (essays and GMAT) for those schools you definitely have a chance.

It looks like you were promoted after you "started over" - right? I think that shows career progression, and as long as you explain your choices I think it could be a positive. If you have recommendations that compare you favorably with your peers that will help.

Good luck!
