Babson MBA or Kelley MBA?

by s1ngular1ty » Thu Jan 06, 2011 6:45 am
Hello,

I have been accepted to both Kelley and Babson MBA programs. I do not have any scholarship from Kelley but Babson has offered me a 50 % tuition waiver mostly because of my entrepreneurial background.
My plan is to start my own venture somewhere down the line but I may want to take up a job for a couple of years immediately after MBA before venturing out..

I just wanted any inputs that will allow me to make a decision with respect to location, recruiter perception and location. I am leaning towards Babson because of the scholarship and hence wanted to know how it is perceived in the USA

Thanks

Both are very fine programs, but they focus on different career paths. Babson is generally considered the best entrepreneurial program in the country. Indiana's strength is more in marketing, specifically consumer marketing and brand management. Indiana has a higher overall rank, but Babson would more directly address your desire to be an entrepreneur.

You are wise to consider working for a few years before starting your own company. Take a look at the companies that interview on each campus and see where each school's graduates end up working. That may help you evaluate the programs.

Either way you will get an excellent education.

Congratulations and good luck,
