Hi all,

I have doubt regarding RC passage questions. What is the average time we can take to complete one RC passage(ie reading passage and answering 4-5 questions).

As per now I am taking 6-7 minutes to complete it.Is it average or am taking more time?

In my opinion, you are too fast. As far as you're answering questions correctly, doing it fast is not a problem. Normally, people take around 3 mins (minimum) for reading and 1-1.5 mins for answering each question. So, for a RC with 4 questions - 8-9 mins is very nominal.

One strategy is as follows
2-3m average to read an RC passage,
1m average for general RC questions,
1.5m to 2m for specific RC questions

That said, I noticed that you said 4 or 5 questions. If you're doing the questions from the OG don't do more than 4 questions at a time because it will not be representative of the GMAT. Doing a 5th or 6th question gives you an added advantage that you won't have on the real test because you will have already gone through the passage thoroughly after doing the first four questions.

But sometimes doing fast,I am making mistakes in RC passage.

Please let me know if below s the average time for verbal sections,

RC passage - 8-9 mins

SC-1-1.5 mins

CR-1-1.5 mins

My problem is I answer quickly the RC passage thinking time will run out.

I'm not sure you're giving CR enough time. While you don't want to rush on RC you're going to need to them a bit faster.
Here's an article that might help you

You also might want to look documents on the this website about how to read faster under the resources tab that talk about subvocalization, regression etc...
