Just curious -
The Veritas Prep book mentioned that the median GMAT score of all tests taken is 530.

However, it did not mention the average of all tests taken.

Can't seem to find this online, anyone have a reference?

The median is more important anyways and this is because schools tend to focus on the percentile rankings of your score more than anything else. These percentile scores show how many people scored less than you did. The median score the 50th percentile: 50% of people scored below 530.

You see, scores have been gradually going up the past few years: a score of 750 is no longer 99th percentile, for instance. Since you are being compared to a pool of applicants, percentiles are essential. The scale used is less relevant: for instance, the LSAT is graded on an 180-scale.
