I am 34 applicant, been in IT for almost ten years, decided to go for an mba,
i am torn between the choices I have regarding the admits.

So, far here is what I have

Booth
pros
Better name, not in debt
Cons
Part time, not able to get as much career resource as a full time, probably busy workload managing work and studies

UNC
pros
full time more career resources, in-state tuition
Cons
not ranked as highly, is my age to become a factor, additional debt


Going into the program, I do not intend to switch to something drastic, my current interests are strategy and consulting,
but not sure if I should rule out fields like finance.

Interesting that both replies thus far have said Booth part-time. Is this because UNC is not a top 10 program or because the OP does not want to make a drastic career switch, or both?

Seems like the OP is currently living in north carolina. If that's the case, doing booth part-time would be quite costly.

I'm seriously considering booth PT as well if i can't get M7 full-time. But in my case I live just a few blocks from gleacher, so convenience won't be an issue. I also like how integrated PT is with the FT program insofar as resources, classes, etc. The main disadvantage, aside from social prestige, is that FT can use ocr for summer internship recruiting, something PT students cannot. And for banking and consulting, that's a huge disadvantage since those firms usually convert their summer internships into full-time offers.
