Let's assume price of the shirt before tax = P
Price of the Toaster before tax = T ......(Given)

Price of the shirt including the tax = P + P*8% = 1.08 P
Price of the Toaster including the tax = T + T*8% = 1.08 T
_______________________________________________________________
The total amount paid by Sam = 1.08 P + 1.08 T = K..........................(1)

after solving the equation (1) we will get the price of the shirt before tax = (K/1.08) - T

The correct option would be E
