Say there are m males and f females in that company

we want to know m/f

1.) m+f =52; insufficient it doesnt give m/f even with the arithmetic mean data given

2) avg no of years in the company for an employee is 9.3

Total years of experience,T/total no of employees =9.3

T/(m+f) = 9.3 -------(1)

we know Total male exp/m = 9.8 Total female exp/f = 9.1

Total male exp = 9.8m total female exp = 9.1 f

T = total male exp+total female exp

Substituting in (1)

(9.8m+9.1f)/(m+f) = 9.3

dividing numerator and denominator by f

(9.8 m/f +9.1)/(m/f+1)

solvable for m/f

Sufficient

If there were m males and f females in the company in total, then the total male and female service years, respectively, were 9.8 m and 9.1 f that totals to (9.8 m + 9.1 f) years. Question is, m/f =?

(1) Insufficient

(2) It translates to 9.8 m + 9.1 f = 9.3 (m + n); with this, m/f can be found. Sufficient
